The Top 3 ISO Certifications Are
- ISO 9001 – 11,610 certification, 69% of total ISO certification in Malaysia
- ISO 14001 – 2,560 certification, 15%
- ISO 45001 – 1,349 certification, 8%
92% of ISO certifications in Malaysia are in Quality, Environmental and Safety Management Systems.
The other 6.6% are ISO IEC 27001 Information security systems (1.7%, 290), ISO 22000 Food safety (2.6%, 441) and ISO 13845 Medical devices quality management systems (2.3%, 383).
ISO 20000-1 Information technology – services management is 21 certification.
Organizations certified to below ISO management systems may implement ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) programs.
ISO 37001 Anti-bribery management systems have 140 certifications.
ISO 50001 Energy management systems with 36 certifications.
ISO 22301 Societal security – Business continuity management systems is 25 certifications.
Sector-Specific Management System For Industries
ISO 39001 Road traffic safety management systems with 19 certifications.
ISO 29001 Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries – quality management systems have 3 certifications.
ISO 28000 Specification for security management systems for the supply chain is 5 certifications.

You may use ISO IEC 27001 Information Security systems if you manage a huge personal database.
If you are in food manufacturing, ISO 22000 Food Safety management systems will be more appropriate.
If you are a medical device manufacturer or in its supply chain, ISO 13835 Medical Service quality management system will suit you more.
Most organizations will start with ISO 9001, followed by sector-specific ISO standards certification.
